NLRB Regional Director Must Rethink NBC Producer Case

By Braden Campbell (March 8, 2017, 2:45 PM EST) -- The National Labor Relations Board told a regional director on Tuesday to rethink a finding that NBC Universal Inc. content producers at three local stations were part of a nationwide unit, a year after the D.C. Circuit said his reasoning did not square with board precedent.

In a unanimous ruling, the board remanded the case to the regional director for another look at the dispute through the lens of three prior NLRB cases covering units at broadcasting companies, rather than use the new approach set forth in his original, 2011 unit-clarification decision.
