Charges Dropped As Quattrone Dodges Third Trial

Law360, New York (August 22, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Former technology banking star Frank Quattrone proved himself bullet-proof on Tuesday when a U.S. federal court judge approved a settlement that would not only let him avoid a third trial on obstruction-of-justice charges, but also possibly usher him back into a career on Wall Street.

Under a deferred-prosecution agreement, Quattrone reached a deal with prosecutors in which all charges against him will be dropped so long as he does not violate state or federal laws for a year.
