Search For Chicago's New US Atty Complicated From Start

Law360, New York (March 15, 2017, 6:46 PM EDT) -- In the days since the forced resignation of Chicago's U.S. Attorney Zachary Fardon, questions about who will take his place and uncertainty about how the selection process will play out under the new administration have dominated the conversation in the city's legal community.

The process to select a replacement for Fardon, who was among the 46 U.S. attorneys remaining from the Obama administration that Attorney General Jeff Sessions asked to step down last week, is underway, according to a spokesman for U.S. Rep. John Shimkus, R-Ill., who is leading the search.
