Another Bellwether Drops Out Of Zimmer Knee Implant MDL

Law360, Chicago (March 16, 2017, 9:52 PM EDT) -- Yet another case set to test the viability of Zimmer Inc.'s knee implants has been thrown out months before it was scheduled to go to trial, whittling what was once a massive multidistrict litigation to 300 cases after an Illinois federal judge tossed the latest bellwether on Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer granted Joan Eckman's request to dismiss her case against Zimmer, vacating the May trial date and adding to a series of woes for plaintiffs in the cases.
