Trump Energy Order Creates Tough Choices For Agencies

Law360, New York (March 28, 2017, 9:54 PM EDT) -- President Donald Trump ordered his administration Tuesday to review and possibly rescind several Obama-era energy rules and policies, some of which are already embroiled in litigation, but exactly how Trump's agencies will go about carrying out the anticipated rollback remains unclear.

The order fulfills Trump's campaign pledge to roll back many of former President Barack Obama's actions to more aggressively combat climate change, such as the 2013 Climate Action Plan, which laid out a strategy to deal with carbon dioxide, methane and hydrofluorocarbons pollution. And it continues Trump's push to increase domestic fossil fuel production and use.
