Law360, New York (March 10, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Barclays Bank PLC unit has agreed to purchase the designated market maker trading assignments on the New York Stock Exchange from JPMorgan Chase & Co. subsidiary Bear Wagner Specialists LLC, making the British financial institution the largest of the five remaining trading specialist groups on the exchange.
NYSE Euronext announced the deal, which will more than double the size of the British operation's designated market maker portfolio, between Barclays Capital and Bear Wagner on Monday.
