Audi Cheated Emissions Tests In Gas Vehicles, Drivers Say

Law360, New York (April 28, 2017, 2:50 PM EDT) -- Audi AG and its American subsidiary knowingly installed illegal so-called defeat devices in certain gasoline vehicles to cheat emissions tests, causing customers to overpay for the models, according to a lawsuit filed in California federal court Thursday by Audi owners and lessees.

Filed on behalf of 100 named drivers, Thursday's suit is the latest accusing Audi or parent company Volkswagen AG of skirting emissions regulations, many of which are being consolidated as part of multidistrict litigation over Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal. The suit says Audi used defeat devices in A6, A7, A8, Q5, Q7, S4, S5, S6, S7 and S8 gasoline...
