Bloomberg BNA Beats Defamation Suit At DC Circ.

Law360, New York (May 9, 2017, 1:58 PM EDT) -- The D.C. Circuit on Tuesday tossed out a defamation lawsuit filed against Bloomberg BNA by a man convicted of murdering two U.S. marshals, ruling the publication did not act with “actual malice” when it ran an allegedly false report that he was unapologetic about the crime.

The ruling came in the case of Yorie Von Kahl, who sued BNA over a 2005 report that he had shown "no hint of contrition" for the 1983 killings. The report attributed that statement to a sentencing judge, when in reality it came from a prosecutor.
