Pa. State Contractor Faces OT Suit From Home Care Workers
Law360, Philadelphia (May 12, 2017, 3:45 PM EDT) -- A contractor to the state government that provides Medicaid-funded "direct care" to elderly and the disabled was sued in Pennsylvania federal court on Thursday for allegedly failing to pay overtime wages to thousands of home care workers.
The suit accuses Public Partnerships LLC, a subsidiary of Boston-based Public Consulting Group, of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act and Pennsylvania law by denying these workers time-and-a-half pay when they exceed 40 hours per week.
