Conan O'Brien Can't Dodge Copyright Suit On 'Stolen' Jokes

Law360, New York (May 15, 2017, 4:25 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge refused Friday to toss a copyright lawsuit that accuses late night TV host Conan O’Brien of stealing jokes about Caitlin Jenner and Tom Brady, sending the case toward trial.

Although she found the jokes at issue were entitled only to “thin protection,” U.S. District Judge Janis L.
