Landmark Lloyds Pension Dispute Goes To UK High Court

Law360, New York (May 18, 2017, 6:05 PM EDT) -- A case on behalf of thousands of female employees who claim Lloyds' and HBOS' pension schemes discriminate against them has landed in London's High Court, a landmark dispute that could lead to tens of billions of pounds for other pensioners nationwide.

The trustees for Lloyds Banking Group's pension formally lodged claims at the court's Chancery Division on Monday that will ask the judiciary to resolve some key technical questions about how to administer the defined-benefits pensions for Lloyds and its HBOS PLC unit.
