$60B Citigroup Case Remanded Despite Atty Mistake

Law360 (March 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A careless mistake made by Citigroup Inc.'s attorneys will not stop the company from litigating in its chosen venue a $60 billion lawsuit challenging the acquisition of Wachovia Corp. by Wells Fargo & Co.

On Friday, Judge Shira A. Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted Citigroup's motion to remand the case to state court, saying she would not base subject matter jurisdiction on a typographical error.
