Trump Admin Rescinds DAPA Program For Immigrant Parents

Law360, New York (June 16, 2017, 12:53 AM EDT) -- The Trump administration on Thursday rescinded a deferred deportation program for unauthorized parents known as DAPA, saying there wasn’t a “credible path forward” on litigating the policy, which was never implemented and could have affected millions of people.

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly signed a memo rescinding a 2014 directive that created the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents, according to a statement issued Thursday evening by the Department of Homeland Security.
