Judge Rules For TiVo In Patent Suit Over Digital Video Technology

Law360 (February 11, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- A U.S. District Judge has ruled for TiVo in a patent infringement lawsuit against the maker of digital video recording technology.

U.S. District Judge Patti Saris of the District of Massachusetts ruled that TiVo does not infringe a patent held by Pause Technology, and accordingly has ordered that judgment be entered in favor of TiVo.

Boston-based Pause filed its lawsuit in 2001, alleging that TiVo had violated a patent issued in 1995 and reaffirmed in 2000.
