IRS Turns To Congress For Power To Regulate Tax Preparers

Law360, New York (June 21, 2017, 5:29 PM EDT) -- Despite a federal judge’s recent ruling that the IRS can’t regulate tax return preparers, the agency’s chief insisted on Wednesday that minimum standards should be set for them and that efforts are underway to convince Congress to grant the IRS the authority it needs.
