NJ Transit Sued Over Atty's Death In Hoboken Train Crash

By Bill Wichert (June 28, 2017, 9:28 PM EDT) -- The family of an attorney who was killed when a New Jersey Transit commuter train crashed into the Hoboken terminal in September has slammed the agency with a wrongful death lawsuit in state court, alleging that it failed to take steps that would have prevented the lawyer's death.

The complaint asserts that the negligence of agency officials caused the Sept. 29 derailment where the speeding train left the tracks and jumped onto the platform and into the concourse, killing 34-year-old Fabiola Bittar de Kroon and injuring more than 100 others.
