Wal-Mart Wins Partial Dismissal of Class Action Suit

Law360, New York (August 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed two counts of racketeering in a lawsuit brought by a group of illegal immigrants against their former employer, retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

In his opinion, Judge Joseph A. Greenaway Jr. of the U.S. District Court in Newark, N.J., ruled that the plaintiffs failed to show how the violations of U.S. immigration law caused them economic harm.
