Dominion Faces $1B Coal Ash Lawsuit

Law360, New York (March 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hundreds of plaintiffs who claim they now live on a toxic site disguised as a golf course have filed a $1 billion lawsuit against Dominion Virginia Power claiming the utility knowingly used more than 1 million tons of coal ash as fill for a project in the middle of their community.

The 709-page lawsuit, filed Friday by 395 named plaintiffs in the Circuit Court for the City of Chesapeake, Va., also names VFL Technology Corp., MJM Golf and West Virginia-based Combustion Products Management Inc., among others,...
