Calif. Eatery's Tip-Share Rule Survives Waiter's Action

Law360, New York (March 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California appeals court has sided with a restaurant chain in a proposed class action brought by a waiter who challenged the legality of the eatery's mandatory tip-sharing policy, which forced him to share his tips with kitchen staff and bartenders.
