Court Tosses Broadcom's Antitrust Suit v. Qualcomm

Law360, New York (September 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a setback for semiconductor company Broadcom Corp., a U.S. district judge has dismissed its federal antitrust lawsuit against rival cell-phone microchip maker Qualcomm Inc.

The complaint, originally filed in July 2005, accused Qualcomm of a variety of purported antitrust violations, each of which was rejected by the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey in a 47-page opinion.
