FedEx Drivers Are Not Employees: Wash. Jury

Law360 (April 1, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Washington state jury has handed FedEx Corp. a win, ruling that the company's drivers are independent contractors, not employees, as drivers in a class action had contended.

A jury in the Superior Court of the State of Washington for King County ruled Tuesday that the 320 drivers who had brought the class action lawsuit against the shipper were not employees.
