DataTreasury’s Check Patents Clear Obviousness Hurdle

Law360 (September 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A magistrate judge has recommended that a legal effort by the banking industry to invalidate two patents asserted by DataTreasury Corp. should be rejected so the check-processing company’s high-profile battle can go forward.

If the court adopts Magistrate Judge Caroline M. Craven’s recommendation, it will be the latest in a string of advancements for DataTreasury in its widespread patent infringement campaign to win royalties from the industry’s electronic banking activities.
