Staples Contempt Motion Spices Up Trademark Fight

Law360 (April 3, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Staples Inc. waded into a heated trademark dispute between two envelope makers this week, filing a motion to hold Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, the firm retained by plaintiff National Envelope Corp., in contempt over a discovery dispute.

According to court documents filed by the office supply giant in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, Fulbright admitted violating a protective order related to confidential documents in the case against American Pad & Paper LLC but claimed the violation was justified.
