House Bill Targets Chinese-Made Drywall

Law360 (April 3, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Fla., has introduced a bill to temporarily ban drywall with high levels of organic compounds and to order a study on imported Chinese drywall, which the Florida Department of Health recently reported emits a sulfur smell when exposed to heat and moisture.

Wexler introduced H.R. 1977 on Thursday, a companion bill to the Drywall Safety Act of 2009 that was introduced recently in the U.S. Senate.
