H-2B Workers Seek Class Cert. In Oil Rig FLSA Case

Law360 (April 9, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two plaintiffs have moved for certification of a collective action alleging Rigstaff Texas LLC, a staffing service to the drilling rig industry, failed to pay overtime to dozens of foreign employees working as rig hands for oil field services provider Schlumberger Technology Corp.

Attorneys for the plaintiffs filed the motion for conditional certification of the representative action Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico on behalf of all persons who worked for Schlumberger under H-2B visas that were issued to RigStaff....
