The respective controlling shareholders of Sprint and T-Mobile, SoftBank Group Corp. and Deutsche Telekom AG, are deep into discussions concerning a stock-for-stock merger, the report said. The two sides could agree to a deal within weeks, the report detailed, though there is no guarantee that they will come to terms. Rumors of a union between Sprint and T-Mobile reemerged in early August after Sprint's exclusive negotiating period with Comcast Corp. and Charter Communications Inc. concerning a partnership to boost their wireless offerings ended at the end of July....
