Tribunal Gives InterDigital $134M For Samsung Royalties

Law360, New York (September 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- American wireless technology company InterDigital Communications Corp. has sued Samsung Electronics Co. to enforce an arbitration tribunal’s conclusion that Samsung should fork over $134 million to settle a royalties dispute.

The royalties include interest related to Samsung's sale of certain handsets using 2G technology through 2005. According to InterDigital, the tribunal also established the royalty rates to be applied to Samsung's sales of covered products in 2006.
