By John Kennedy (October 18, 2017, 8:45 PM EDT) -- A Russian oligarch whom the Associated Press linked to President Donald Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort lost his defamation suit against the news outlet on Tuesday, as a D.C. federal judge ruled the billionaire failed to show AP acted with "actual malice."
Described in a March AP article as an "aluminum magnate" and a "close Putin ally," Oleg V. Deripaska had sued the publication in May on allegations it directly and impliedly accused him of "involvement in criminal activities and other improprieties."
