Trade Secrets Theft Not ‘Protected Activity:’ Court

Law360 (April 20, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- HBW Insurance & Financial Services Inc. must face claims that its employees stole trade secrets and used confidential information in a bid to swipe associates and clients from World Financial Group Inc. because their actions don’t classify as “protected activity,” a California appeals court has ruled.
