By Linda Chiem (October 20, 2017, 6:28 PM EDT) -- Daimler AG slapped Amazon.com Inc. with a new trademark infringement suit in California federal court Friday alleging the internet retail titan is selling counterfeit products with the Mercedes-Benz mark in its Amazon Marketplace, and facilitating further infringement with a limp approach to enforcement.
Daimler claims in its suit that Amazon has already received bad publicity for facilitating rampant infringement of intellectual property rights in its Amazon Marketplace, the platform that enables third parties to sell new or used products for a fixed-price alongside Amazon's regular offerings.
