Mass. Justices OK Atty’s Disbarment For Misusing Funds
Law360, New York (October 25, 2017, 6:06 PM EDT) -- The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court on Wednesday cemented an attorney’s disbarment as punishment for conduct including intentionally misusing client funds, rejecting his argument that the sanction was too harsh.
The state’s highest court affirmed an order by one of its justices disbarring William P. Corbett Jr. from the practice of law, after Massachusetts’ Office of the Bar Counsel filed a petition for discipline with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers asserting that he had converted funds belonging to two clients, among other things.
