HTC Hit With Patent Suit Over Phone Display Technology

Law360, Los Angeles (November 6, 2017, 6:16 PM EST) -- HTC Corp. copied patented technology for a smartphone display screen that refreshes based on how or where the phone is being used, according to a suit in California federal court Friday that says the feature infringed three patents.

Local Intelligence LLC said HTC is stepping on technology covered by its U.S. Patent Numbers 8,903,067; 9,219,982; and 9,084,084; all of which cover an “Apparatus and Method for Automatically Refreshing a Display of a Telephone,” according to Friday’s complaint.
