French Atomic Agency Expands LCD Patent Litigation

Law360, New York (February 19, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- The French Atomic Agency’s lawsuits against makers and sellers of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) could become the most far-reaching patent litigation in the U.S. with the filing last week against additional plaintiffs in Delaware federal court.

On Friday of last week, the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique (CEA) filed lawsuits in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against Japanese electronics makers Sony, Matsushita (the company behind the Panasonic brand), Toshiba and Victor Co. (the company behind the JVC brand).
