ECJ Asked To Rule On Tax Relief For Cross-Border Workers

Law360, London (November 14, 2017, 5:14 PM GMT) -- The European Court of Justice has been asked to decide whether the European Union's cross-border working regulations could supersede national rules that prevent professionals working abroad from applying home tax levels to their pension contributions.

A German tribunal has asked Europe’s top court whether, by treating workers outside the country differently from national residents, a domestic income tax rule may fall foul of a major European Union treaty, according to questions published in the EU Official Journal on Monday.
