Enron Off Hook For $22M Settlement Shortfall

Law360, New York (April 24, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has ruled that Enron Creditors Recovery Corp. is not liable for the misallocation of $22 million from an $89 million settlement fund for class action plaintiffs who lost money in failed Enron's employee benefit plans.

Judge Melinda Harmon of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Thursday dismissed human resources and consulting firm Hewitt Associates LLC's claims that it was entitled to indemnification by Enron for damages caused by Hewitt's miscalculations.
