Apple, Samsung And Others Prevail In LTE Patent Row

Law360, New York (December 1, 2017, 4:42 PM EST) -- The Patent Trial and Appeal Board on Thursday invalidated numerous claims in a patent related to LTE wireless technology that the owner, Evolved Wireless LLC, has accused Apple, Samsung and other smartphone makers of infringing.

The board said in its final decisions that it was convinced the challenged patent claims would have been obvious at the time of the invention. Microsoft Corp., HTC Corp. and ZTE (USA) Inc. were involved with the challenges, along with Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
