Barnes & Noble Hit With Copyright Suit Over Tunes

Law360, New York (April 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Classical music seller Telos Holdings Inc. has hit Barnes & Noble Inc. with a lawsuit accusing the retailer of infringing its copyrights by reproducing and distributing its music without authorization.

Telos filed the suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.

A German company, Cascade GmbH, is behind the infringement, according to the complaint. Cascade licensed music it did not own to Barnes & Noble, and refused to stop its infringement when Telos asked, according to the complaint.
