DOL Proposes Rolling Back Obama-Era 'Tip Pool' Rule

Law360, New York (December 4, 2017, 11:30 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor on Monday proposed rolling back a rule that blocks employers from taking some service workers’ tips to share with non-tipped staff, citing Supreme Court petitions regarding the controversial Obama-era rule and uncertainty about the agency’s authority to issue it.
