Charter Says Release 'Integral' To Restructuring Plan

Law360 (May 4, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Charter Communications Inc. has reaffirmed the importance of its reorganization plan's nondebtor release — which would free Charter employees from litigation launched by claim holders — after the U.S. trustee overseeing the Chapter 11 case objected that the cable giant's initial release was not justified.

Charter made a case for its nondebtor release provisions in an amended disclosure statement filed Friday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, calling them an “integral part” of the company's restructuring efforts.
