Calif. License Fraudsters Bribed DMV Workers, Feds Say

Law360, New York (December 4, 2017, 9:46 PM EST) -- Several California residents have landed in hot water for helping unqualified people get licenses to drive tractor-trailers, tankers and the like by bribing state Department of Motor Vehicles employees, with federal prosecutors announcing charges against them Monday. 

The charged individuals bribed DMV employees to falsely indicate in department records that applicants for California Class A commercial driver’s licenses had passed the required tests, according to three recently unsealed, Nov. 16 indictments.
