Bankruptcy Tech Co. Owner Looks To Duck Antitrust Suit

Law360 (August 20, 2019, 6:02 PM EDT) -- The owner of a bankruptcy software provider urged a New Jersey federal court Monday to toss a suit accusing it of maintaining a conspiracy to inflate fees charged in Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, saying the issue has already been litigated.

Stone Point Capital LLC moved to dismiss the complaint lodged by Spinner Consulting LLC in June that alleges the private equity firm caused Bankruptcy Management Solutions Inc. to continue conspiring with its competitors after it bought the company.
