Courtney Love Must Face 'Defamatory' Tweet Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (September 21, 2011, 6:48 PM EDT) -- A California judge ruled Tuesday that a lawyer hired by rocker Courtney Love to pursue money and property stolen from Kurt Cobain's estate could go after the 'Hole' front woman for allegedly defaming the attorney on Twitter.

California Superior Court Judge Ramona G. See granted Love's motion to dismiss claims that the performer defamed attorney Rhonda Holmes' law firm, Gordon & Holmes, and interfered with client relationships, but allowed Holmes to proceed with her main claim — that Love defamed her when the musician tweeted in June 2010 that Holmes had been "bought off."
