Moldy Chobani Yogurt Caused Illnesses, Suit Says

Law360, New York (September 10, 2013, 4:39 PM EDT) -- Chobani Inc. was hit Monday with a proposed class action in California federal court accusing it of manufacturing and distributing mold-tainted Greek yogurt that caused some customers to fall ill.

The lawsuit followed last week's announcement by the Twin Falls, Idaho-based company that it would voluntarily recall several varieties of its yogurt due to reports of product bloating and swelling and some claims of illness.

Plaintiff Harold Green said that to date, Chobani has not publicly identified the actual strain of mold found within the yogurt subject to the recall.
