Microsoft Corp. has lost its bid to toss a suit brought by Motorola Inc. over patents relating to its Windows 7 and Xbox products but succeeded in transferring the case from Wisconsin to its home turf in Washington state.

On the heels of Microsoft Corp.'s contract suit against Motorola Inc. over alleged patent license price-gouging, a Motorola unit has fired back, asserting patents in two suits that allegedly relate to the technology giant’s core Windows 7 and Xbox businesses.
