Attys Seek $11.3M In Fees For Optical Disk Drive MDL Deals
Attorneys representing direct purchasers in sprawling multidistrict litigation alleging a conspiracy to fix prices on optical disk drives asked a California federal judge Tuesday to approve their attorneys' fees, equal to about a third of the nearly $38 million in settlements they have secured thus far.

Judge Says Toshiba-Samsung's Secrecy In MDL 'Preposterous'
A California federal judge on Friday ordered Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Corp. Korea to hand over recordings of conversations between a government cooperator and several co-defendants in multidistrict litigation over price-fixing on optical disk drives, calling the nonparty Korean company's efforts to withhold the tapes "preposterous."

LG Electronics Inc., Hitachi-LG Data Storage Inc. and several other electronics companies urged a California federal judge on Thursday to nix contract claims brought by Hewlett-Packard Co. in multidistrict litigation over optical disk drive price-fixing, claiming HP has failed to allege the existence of any valid contracts.

A California federal judge on Thursday signed off on Pioneer Corp.'s bid to evade a lawsuit brought by Acer Inc. over an alleged conspiracy to fix the price of optical disk drives, but said similar claims against Toshiba Corp., Samsung Electronics Co.
