Kroger Settles 'Popcorn Lung' Row After Landmark Award
Grocery retail giant The Kroger Co. and Gilster-Mary Lee Corp. have settled a suit by a Colorado man who had won a landmark $5.8 million award against them after claiming he developed "popcorn lung," an illness allegedly caused by the flavoring in microwave popcorn distributed by Kroger and others.

A Colorado federal jury on Wednesday delivered a $7.2 million verdict to a Colorado man claiming he developed "popcorn lung," a lung illness allegedly caused by chemicals found in the butter flavoring in microwave popcorn distributed by the Kroger Co. and others.
