Gas Cap Maker Added To Sears Lawnmower Explosion Suit
Lawnmower manufacturer Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group LLC on Monday dragged a gas cap maker into litigation over a 2013 accident in which a riding mower manufactured for Sears exploded, leaving a Pennsylvania man with severe burns and necessitating a partial leg amputation.

Sears May Face Punitive Damages Over Exploding Mower
A Pennsylvania federal judge on Friday ruled that Sears Holdings Corp. must face strict liability claims and the prospect of punitive damages as the result of a 2013 accident in which a riding lawnmower manufactured for the company exploded, leading to severe burns and a partial leg amputation for the user.
