Chrysler Pushes Bulk Of Race Bias Claimants Into Arbitration

By Kat Greene (May 24, 2018, 10:25 PM EDT) -- Fiat Chrysler won a bid to push the bulk of a racial discrimination proposed class action into individual arbitration, according to a Michigan federal judge's ruling Thursday that found the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision in Epic Systems bars the employees from arbitrating their bias claims as a class.

U.S. District Judge Laurie J. Michelson found that six of the eight employees who put their names atop the suit alleging FCA US LLC's performance evaluation system unfairly harms black employees had agreed to arbitrate employment matters with the company, and that the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision in Epic Systems Corp....
