Ky. Hospital Wants Ex-Employees' Pension Suit Tossed

Law360 (June 13, 2018, 9:17 PM EDT) -- A Kentucky hospital accused of underfunding its pension plan by $166 million said the former employees bringing the suit relied on “half-truths and distortion” in making their allegations and urged a federal judge to toss the claims.

St. Elizabeth Medical Center Inc. said in its reply brief, dated May 29 but filed June 12, that the former employees wrongly argued in their opposition to the hospital’s motion for summary judgment that the plan’s funding levels were only addressed because of their lawsuit and that future shortfalls...
