Auditor PKF New York Can't Skirt $132M China Expert Suit

Law360, New York (November 7, 2011, 6:08 PM EST) -- A New York federal judge on Friday refused to release auditing firm PKF New York from a putative shareholder class action alleging it aided China Expert Technology Inc.'s $132 million accounting fraud, saying there were still issues that needed to be resolved through discovery.

U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein said in the order — his second denying PKF New York's motion to dismiss — that the plaintiffs had provided allegations sufficient to keep alive the question of the firm's involvement in allowing the fraud to occur....
